Shore excursions in Italy ,Daily Tours and guided Limousine services.
We had an awesome day with Claudio our driver. He collected us promptly and took care to find out what we expected to get from our trip and made sure that he exceeded these expectations. He called ahead to book a trusted private tour guide who was waiting for us on our arrival in Pompeii - he was fantastic! And then we drove on to Sorrento, stopping at various places on the Amalfie Coast to take photographs and then we had a late lunch in Il Positano, before returning to Rome. Travelling with two young daughters, it was a long day trip, but memorable - and we all thought it was our best day of our week-long holiday to Rome.

Drive 40 minutes East to the attractive beachside town of Cefalu'. This famous small scale fishing port is a growing attraction becoming one of the leading destinations of Tyrrhenian summer resorts. Take time to visit the picturesque medieval streets, historical sites and the Duomo built by a Norman king in 1131.

Proceed to Monreale, the crown of the Conca d'Oro, the Golden Shell, the great sweep of bay from Monte Pellegrino to the mountains that cradles Palermo. The cathedral of Monreale was constructed by William the Good, a Norman king who fell headlong into the temptations of the East (his lifestyle would have embarrassed a sultan) but not before he had put Arab artists, Byzantine mosaicists and Norman architects to work creating one of the wonders of the world. The interior of the cathedral is the Sistine Chapel of medieval Europe. It is a golden vision, a dream of the testaments, Old and New. The mosaics tell their stories in a downpour of colour, life and drama. It is as close as the visual arts can come to the power of music.

After the visit of the Duomo head South to Palermo where you will have time to visit the city's main sights. You can admire elegant baroque and Norman monuments such as Palazzo Normanni, a royal palace built by the Saracens in the 9th century, enlarged by the Normans and completed by the Spanish in the 17th century.
Continue to Piazza dei 4 Canti that divides the city into 4 quarters. Each corner is represented with: a season, a Patron Saint and a king of Sicily. Going North you can find the Cathedral founded in 1185 and intended to be the power base in the city. Visit the Royal tombs of the greatest kings and emperors the island has known.

Next you will cross the oldest area of Sicily where open air markets are held and where the best fish can be bought in addition to souvenirs and clothes. Drive by the imposing theaters, the 19th-century Massimo that was used for the shooting of Godfather movie and Teatro Politeama in the center of the city that includes 20th century sculpures.

If time permits, visit the Convent of the Capuccini. In here 8000 bodies of monks are preserved in the basements of the monastery with different chemical drying process including dehydration, use of vinegar and arsenic baths.

Highlights:

- Medieval sites of Cefalu
- Norman Duomo of Monreale
- Palermo's main sights
